GVFD Runs House Fire in Riverdale Heights
Tue. Feb 23rd 2016

Around 9:30 am on Tuesday, February 23rd, Engine Company 35 and several neighboring companies responded to the 6600 block of Oliver Street in Riverdale Heights for the report of a house on fire.  Responding units arrived to find a two-story, single family dwelling with smoke showing from the house. Upon Company 35’s arrival, E352 assumed the responsibilities of a second due engine and quickly placed a backup line in place to support the crew from first arriving engine. The crew from E352 advanced their hoseline to the second floor and began attacking the bulk of the fire. Company 35 and the crews from the other responding companies were able to extinguish the fire quickly and conduct a search to ensure all the occupants were out of the home. Several crews remained on the scene for over four hours to assist with extensive overhaul operations.
